Our story

Empowering Women, Advancing Sustainability

Recognizing the significant yet underrepresented role of women in the energy sector, a group of passionate women leaders, engineers, and sustainability advocates came together to form WIECA. We saw an urgent need to address the gender gap in the energy workforce, particularly in technical and leadership roles, and to amplify the voices of women who are disproportionately affected by climate change.

Since our founding, WIECA has grown into a dynamic network of women and allies dedicated to fostering gender equality in the energy sector. We are driven by the conviction that empowering women in energy is crucial not only for achieving gender equality but also for creating innovative, sustainable solutions to global energy and climate challenges.
